Co-operative Education is a joint effort in which the school and the community co-operate to provide an educational program for students. Students attend classes at school half of the day and participate in experiential learning in the workplace for the other half-day. The out-of-school component of the program will be designed to complement any in-school course in which the student has a particular interest or aptitude.
Through Co-op, the students are placed with skilled experts to investigate their career choice, and gain on-the-job experience, while earning secondary school credits. Students are exposed to modern equipment, systems and techniques. By spending a semester in the workplace, they acquire work experience, learn about a possible career choice and develop personal, social, professional and business skills.
