On September 26, WHS will be the site for the School Championships Soccer Qualifier - Ottawa for the Special Olympics. There will be unified teams consisting of Mainstream students and Special Olympics students as well as Special Olympic athletes teams.
There will be close to 20 teams participating, representing schools from around the Region. Woodroffe HS will have 2 teams entered.
This is a special year as Special Olympics is celebrating 50 years, and will be hosting the Worlds in Toronto in May. Winners from Regional Meets such as ours will be representing Ottawa and competing in Toronto with athletes from around the world.
How exciting is this for our students?!
